HEYET Denounce Arrest of Hundreds in Saladin Print E-mail

The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (HEYET) issued a statement condemning the campaign of arrests which affected several parts of Dhuluiya district of Salah ad Din province on Saturday.

The statement said "So-called anti-terror task force in the province of Salahuddin on Saturday evening under the leadership of Ahmad Subhi al Fahal started to random raids into homes in different parts of Dhuluiya district of Salah ad Din province on the purpose of attacks on U.S occupation forces. The result was the arrest of nearly 100 people, including construction workers, guests from other cities, the elderly, children, and families of all male members (parents, their children and grandchildren). During the attacks they used automatic weapons, sound bombs, broken the doors, assaulted on people, beaten and insulted them in full view of their families.

The statement added, "These absurd raids come in the context of the conflict between the political blocs in the Salah ad Din province on jobs and money for the reason of forgery of documents policy for their favor at the expense of the poor people not for their security, comfort, and safety.

The statement concluded that "the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (HEYET) strongly condemns this heinous act , it carries the occupation and the current government fully responsible, and warns the perpetrators about the wrath of Allah and the people, and the curse of history!!.
